Hybrid Solar Solutions

Hybrid Solar Solutions

This system is a combination of both Rooftop On-grid and off-grid PV system.

Here in daytime Solar panels generate electricity which is used in the home for fulfilling energy needs or charging the battery bank or can be sent to the grid.

In Nighttime when Solar panels are not generating electricity, the energy needs are fulfilled by energy coming from battery bank or grid.

In case of grid failure at any time i.e. Daytime or Night-time, the energy needs are fulfilled by energy from the battery bank.

The advantage of this system is that in any situation your energy needs have been fulfilled. This type of system is useful in areas where there are frequent electricity cut-offs, particularly in rural areas.

Solar Solutions FAQ

What is a hybrid solar system?

A hybrid solar system combines on-grid and off-grid features. It connects to the utility grid but also has battery backup for storing excess energy. This allows both self-consumption and backup power during outages.

Will my system work during a power outage?

Yes. Unlike standard on-grid systems, hybrids can island (disconnect from the grid) and power essential loads from solar + batteries.

What type of batteries are used?

Commonly Lithium-ion or Lead-acid (tubular/VRLA). Lithium-ion is preferred due to higher efficiency and longer life.

• On-grid: No batteries, relies on grid + solar. No backup during outages.

• Off-grid: Fully independent, requires larger batteries and solar array.

• Hybrid: Uses solar + grid + batteries for flexible operation.

How does it differ from on-grid and off-grid systems?

Yes. Stored energy in the batteries can power loads at night.

Can I run my home at night with a hybrid system?

Yes. Some hybrid inverters can operate without batteries, functioning as an on-grid system until batteries are added later.

Can a hybrid system work without batteries?
